It's hard to pour water into the reservoir without spilling water all over the counter so I do not use the carafe to pour the water. My thermos keeps the coffee hot longer than its carafe does. It is hard to set the timer with the buttons so close together and I have small fingers. It makes good coffee though. I miss my old Melitta coffee maker.

Some of the other reviews here are correct: this unit will make good coffee, but not HOT coffee. Coffee is lukewarm just after brewing, and the thermal carafe doesn't do it's job all that well. Very overpriced for what it does.

The Melitta 10 cup coffee brewer is everything that previous "favorable" reviews said that it was! It brews hot coffee, is super easy to use, and I haven't had any leaks. Love it, and would definitely purchase this brand again.
