I was not surprised by the size, it was what I expected, but the picture depicted an upper tray with seperated compartments, but on the box I got it was just one large tray. This was not a problem worth dealing with all the hassles of returning, I will just live with it, make do and take it as a lesson learned.

i just got my bunny bento box in today! i almost didn't order it because of some people reviewing that it was way to small. i was very surprised with how roomy it is!! the bottom tier is very deep and you can put quite alot in there. and the top part would be a perfect size for quite a bit of fruit, veggie, or really anything!! comes with the strap to so your lunch doesnt go everywhere!! very very pleased and i actually think i will buy another one ^_^

This bento box was a disappointment. This listing not only misrepresented the quality of this product, but went as far as to pen fake reviews under similar fake names (1. Aubrey Copeland "Bento Lover" and L. Murray "Cool Mom.")

First of all, as Karen S said, there is absolutely no way that two people would be sharing out of this box. Even if they're children. This is at least 2/3 smaller than a standard American lunch box for kids. It's tiny. Food enthusiasts, back up. Back way up. This product isn't for you. The whole appeal of a bento box, to me, is that it provides an artful variety of foods. This literally does not give you much room to work with.

WARNING: Cheap parts! The sauce compartment does not have its own lid. It fits inside the upper compartment, which does have its own cheap plastic lid fastened over it (not pictured). This means that your sauces WILL roll around, spilling over the food in the rest of the compartment, defeating the purpose of having a separate sauce tray. Because this white lid is cheap, it will stain depending on what sauce you use.

Japanese style two tiered lunchbox with cloth elastic band to keep your lunchbox securely closed. This laquered plastic Japanese lunchbox measures 6 inches long by 4 inches wide and when stacked measures 3 1/3 inches high. The bottom tray measures 1 1/2 inches deep, the plastic covered top tray measures 1 1/4 inches deep. The laquered lunch box is nice & simple. Hand wash in warm soapy water, the elastic band can be hand washed as well. Made in Japan
