I've owned and used a Lite Cylinder for a couple of years now. Here's my perspective of the benefits and the drawbacks:

Benefits:
-Lightweight
-Fewer sharp edges compared to steel tank
-Easy to see actual fuel level

Drawbacks:
-The handle area has very poor clearance for many fittings and regulators. You may have to resort to using extensions to be able to use this tank. For the same reason, it's difficult to really make tight connections to the tank. I've had several instances where someone connecting the tank to our stove had a leaky connection at the tank.
-Accessories like risers for lanterns and multiple supply fittings won't fit this handle.
-These cylinders are rare enough that many filling station staff will look at these as if the tanks came from Mars. You may have a station refuse to fill the tank. Also, because filling personnel are used to looking for certifications on steel tanks, they may not see the certification decal.
-While the tank can be re-certified five years after the manufacturing date, it's unclear who can and will do the certification.

For my use (camping, river trips) the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. I also have a Clear View cylinder which is a competing product. The Clear View has a better handle with more clearance for attachments. You still can't connect risers to the Clear View, however. The Clear View has a wider, more stable base. But the Clear View isn't very clear. It's very difficult to get lighting just right so that I can confirm the fuel level in the Clear view tank. The Lite Cylinder is much better in this regard. If you don't see the fuel level immediately, shake the tank a bit and you'll see the level line.

At first I was a bit hesitant buying this but I am pleased. I have had this for a few months and it is an eye catcher and easy to move around. Ace Hardware fills these guys, they too were shocked to see it. The Ace I go to had never seen one, it was a side show. If you are looking to haul a LP cylinder around, you should get a composite one like this one. There are two things I wish were a bit better: the decals affixed, which have important info like duration period of cylinder and serial number, to the cylinder don't appear all that permanent, and the cylinder is not all that transparent as shown on youtube. Don't get me wrong, you can still visually see the liquid LP levels, just not as bright and sexy as some of the advertising material. All in all, if you need a light cylinder with visual indications of fuel level, this baby will make you happy.
